1.) Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters

Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters was established in 2013 by Matt Chitharanjan, Namrata asthana and Shivam Shahi and is headquartered in Delhi.

Blue Tokai boasts of being India’s most rapidly growing and largest specialty coffee startup. Blue Tokai offers a chain of (limited service) restaurants which serve coffee including a range of standalone cafes and roasteries spread across India. 

Blue Tokai serves in the B2C sector and specializes in selling roasted coffee through its online marketplace portal and also records a large number of partnerships with some of the top corporates and co working spaces, marquee retail outlets and luxury restaurants and hotels. 

Deepika Padukone in 2023, participated in a Series B funding round of Blue Tokai for an undisclosed amount.

Blue Tokai is currently a minicorn with an estimated valuation of USD 72.1 M and held its latest funding round (Series B) on 9th April, 2024 for an undisclosed amount with the participation of Rakesh Kapoor as an investor.

 

 

2.) Third Wave Coffee Roasters

Third Wave Coffee Roasters was established in 2016 by Anirudh Sharma, Sushant Goel and Ayush Bathwal and is headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Third Wave Coffee is both a manufacturer and distributor of specialty coffee bags that aids in the making of barista quality coffee anytime, anywhere. Third Wave Coffee also acquires a range of coffee cafes all over India. 

Third Wave Coffee serves in the B2C sector and retails their specialty coffee on online marketplace portals as well alongside brewing guidelines for a variety of coffee.

Third Wave Coffee Roasters is currently a soonicorn with an estimated valuation of USD 154 M and held its latest funding round (Series C) on 12th June, 2023 for USD 35 M with the participation of 6 investors including WestBridge Capital, Creaegis etc.

3.) Sleepy Owl 

Sleepy Owl was established in 2016 by Arman Sood, Ajai Thandi and Ashwajeet Singh and is headquartered in Delhi.

Sleepy Owl is an internet first brand that offers coffee even on a subscription basis. Sleepy Owl is popular for their wide array of coffee flavors including french vanilla and hazelnut. They also offer coffee merchandise including travel mugs, french press, coffee frothers, enamel mugs, ceramic mugs etc.

Beanly is a coffee brand which retails its products through online marketplace portals and offline stores. They also retail instant coffee alongside a frother.

Beanly currently acquires an estimated valuation of USD 1.87 M and held its latest funding round (Seed Round) on 5th February, 2024 for an undisclosed amount with the participation of 6 investors and was led by Annurag Batra.

 

5.) Rage Coffee

Rage Coffee was established in 2018 by Bharat Sethi and is headquartered in Delhi.

Rage Coffee is a D2C brand, popular for their natural ingredients core. Rage Coffee offers a fusion of coffee and caffeine based products with plant based vitamins. Rage Coffee works with 6 plant based vitamins including Rhodiola, Panax Ginseng, Rosea, i-glutamine etc to offer an extensive array of flavors including orange, caramel, hazelnut and chocolate. 

Rage Coffee is backed by Virat Kohli who participated in a Series A funding round and raised USD 4.2 M. 

Rage Coffee is a minicorn with an estimated valuation of USD 22.7 M and held its latest funding round (Series A) on 22nd March, 2022 for USD 4.2 M with the participation of 7 investors and was led bySixth Sense Ventures.
