The traditional gas cylinder dance of waiting for the delivery truck, matching schedules with the delivery person, or lifting those heavy iron tanks, is finally getting a high-tech makeover!!
Imagine a world where grabbing a cooking gas refill is as simple as withdrawing cash from an ATM. Well, if you live in Gurgaon, that world is already here!
Launch of LPG Vending Machines
NCR has officially welcomed its first-ever LPG Vending Machine, and it’s changing the game for households in Gurgaon.
Installed at Central Park Flower Valley in Sector 33, Sohna, this vending machine by Bharatgas allows you to exchange your empty cylinder for a filled one in just about two to three minutes.
How Does an LPG Vending Machine Work?
If you’re wondering how a vending machine handles something as heavy as a gas cylinder, don’t worry, it’s surprisingly simple and takes less than three minutes. Here is the step-by-step:
- Verify Your Identity: Just like a bank ATM, start by entering your registered mobile number. You’ll receive an OTP to keep things secure.
- Scan & Check: Once you’re in, the machine will ask you to scan the barcode or QR code on your empty cylinder. It quickly checks your digital eligibility to make sure everything is in order.
- Digital Payment: No need to hunt for exact change or wait for a POS machine. You can pay instantly using UPI or your debit card.
- The Quick Swap: After payment, the machine’s door opens. You place your empty cylinder inside, and the machine automatically releases a fresh, filled composite cylinder for you to take home.
Qualities of LPG Vending Machines
- Lightweight: The machine dispenses composite cylinders. Unlike the old-school 31kg iron tanks, these are made of fibre, weighing only about 15kg. They are easier to carry and rust-free.
- Translucent: The machines are translucent, so you can actually see how much gas is left inside.
- 24/7 Convenience: The machine is always up and running for you. For working families or people with busy schedules, this access is a total lifesaver.
- Contactless & Digital: The process is completely automated. You just verify your number via OTP, scan the QR code on your empty cylinder, pay via UPI or card, and voila, the machine swaps your empty tank for a fresh one.
But, why Gurgaon?
As a hub of innovation and fast-paced living, Gurgaon was the natural choice for this pilot project.
While it’s currently starting small, the machine holds about 10 cylinders and alerts the agency when stock is low.
It represents a huge leap toward making our daily chores friction-free.
